Acrylic

Acrylic is a synthetic material that can be blended with other fibers to produce a rug that has the look and feel of a wool rug, but is far less expensive. Acrylic area rugs resist static and mildew as well as prevent fading, staining, and even sun damage. They are often used in bathrooms due to this factor, but they make a great stylish addition to any room in your home. However, acrylic is not quite as durable as wool, so avoid putting these rugs in very high traffic areas.
