The colors are darker than pictured. It is a unique rug, as it looks aged and different from every angle. It is not as high quality, of course, as the wool rugs I have bought from this site, but still a great rug.

If you are looking for an inexpensive rug, it would be sufficient, otherwise it is very thin and could use a very thick pad underneath. Not sure that would help though......

This rug is more of a taupe and brown in a varigated color scheme. Very beautiful. If you are looking for a understated rug this will work perfectley.
