I've only owned this rug about a week, so I can't speak to it's durability. But from all appearances, it's a beautiful rug. It's soft wool, about 3/4" thick and the pattern is in a contrasting texture. The color is more of a brick red than crimson, but that was exactly what I was wanting. It would have been nice to know that the tag says it doesn't react well to stains, since I got this rug so my baby would have something to crawl on.
