it is a runner in a dining room on top of carpeting-the walk thru is basically a hallway. We have two cats (who sharpen their claws on it) a large dog and it gets lots of traffic--which is why we needed it. It is neutral and elegant and receives abuse and still looks flawless. I wish our carpeting was half as good--we are going to replace the carpet but we are keeping the runner. AN A+ and we couldn't be more pleased.

My Mom loved this rug and is
very happy with it. She wanted
it for her enclosed patio that
can be seen from inside the
family room through the double
glass doors. It has the look
she wanted.
