These luxurious flat woven kilims are handmade by Afghan master weavers on the Pakistani Afghan borders. They are woven using locally handspun wool and the beautiful variety of colors and hues is achieved by using vegetable and mineral dyes. The natural dyes produce the soft shades and abrash fading not possible with chemical dyes. The meaning of Chobi in Farsi means wood. The majority of Chobi rugs and kilims are brownish in color, therefore the nomenclature. Chobi kilim rugs can come in various colors and designs, including the famous Ziegler and William Morris styles. These stately rugs are perfect for traditional, classical and modern decors.
Vacuum regularly as new wool rugs can shed yarn fibers for up to three months. Avoid direct and continuous exposure to sunlight. Do not pull loose ends, clip them with scissors to remove. Clean liquid spills immediately by blotting with cloth or sponge. For hard to remove stains, professional rug cleaning is recommended.
