The texture of the fabric was very pleasant and it looks exactly like the picture on the website except that it is more brown than burgundy. That is the one disappointment, but other than the color issue I am very satisfied. I would advise you not to bother buying a rug pad with this rug. I put it over my new wood floor and it doesn't slip or move at all. This exceeded my expectations. I would definitely recommend it to a friend or family member.
