All Abaca rugs are hand woven in the Philippines of 100% abaca fiber - a member of the banana family. The designs showcase the natural beauty of the abaca fiber and the skill of the hand work. The dramatic range of natural colors - from the glossy, white inner fibers to the dark, coarse outer fibers - and variation in texture make abaca uncommonly beautiful as a woven floor covering. Olutanga uses twining techniques to create a beautiful chunky, braided look.
