Keeps the rug in place as promised. Enough cushion to make it comfortable. Rubbery texture, scent disapates fast.

Thank you RUGSUSA !! This rug pad is the perfect underpinning for our new Momeni Comfort Shag rug, and does provide some extra cushioning. I was a bit surprised at the lightness of the package (as compared to the weight of the carpet). Time will tell whether or not this is a durable product; judging from the apparent quality of the carpet itself I doubt we'll be disappointed.

Nice for preventing slide but I prefer more padding for floor protection.

The product is satisfactory but I would have liked one that was heavier.

I first ordered a small area rug to place in front of my couch. The rug never stayed in place. After I ordered the mat, the rug does not move from its spot!! The mat holds it in place beautifully. I should have ordered the mat right away, would have saved me all the frustration. Absolutely recommend this mat if your rug is not going to be under a table or something else that's going to hold it in place.

This rug pad does exactly what it needs to do. It stinks a little when you first open the package but the mell eventually goes away.

Just like from the store...There is no difference in quality..

The pad was good. It was nice that I didnt have to go out and buy the pad once I got the rug. The product was equal to what I would have bought at the local box store.

It is paper thin, and I wanted it to give my carpet more padding. So I will return it. (I really didn't even open package fully and went, wow.) But- it does have traction, so if you have a rug that might slip when walking on it, it would probably be helpful. In my case it would be under dining room table

Great standard pad. Does the job under our 5x8 rug on top of our hardwood. Nice little extra bit of cushion for playing on the floor with young ones.

A very nice product! Ordered the 8' round in grey to put in a family room that gets a lot of traffic, including the paws of a large, playful, hairy dog. We wanted something with a relatively soft texture and a modern look that we didn't have to worry too much about. The rug arrived quickly and in very good shape. I purchased it on sale, and for the price I am extremely happy. I could not find an 8ft round grey rug anywhere for that price. Unlike others, I felt the rug was true grey (no blue undertones)... It was not silver, but not charcoal - I think the pic is accurate. Also, I didn't notice a chemical smell, though perhaps the rug was small enough that it wasn't apparent. I highly recommend - fit our needs perfectly and the transaction was great.

I would recommend this rug pad; however, I think RugUSA's rug pads are generally overpriced. You can go to any discount home decor store and get them for significantly cheaper.

This is a great pad, keeps my rug in place. I have it on wood floors so it also is protecting my floor.

I purchased this rug pad to go beneath a hallway runner. The rug has not budged since I put it down two weeks ago. I would not consider purchasing a rug without buying one of these rug pads. You will not be sorry.

This pad is 1000% better than what we had before. Now the runner doesn't slip around, even when the dog is taking a running tour of the house! And much safer for friends with only two legs.

This rug isn't going anywhere!!!!!!! Good value. The package says it's larger than it actually is - maybe that's the size of rug it will work with?

After reading other reviews about how customers loved your rugs but, wished some of them would have ordered a rug pad as well, I thought I better get one and I am so glad I did. Not only does it keep my rug from moving around but, it protects my wood floors as well. It gives the security I need that I do not have to worry about things like that. So glad I ordered it.

almost purchased mat from one of discount stores. Am sooo glad that I did not. This pad is heavier and not much trouble to rapidly get the "wrinkles out" (from shipping). Well worth the money after my experiences with less expensive pads.

I used this rug pad on a tiled bathroom floor and it worked great.

The grip is strong and holds rug in place real well.

It's ok. I don't know if it really makes a different on the softness of the rug but for $40 I guess it was worth a try.

This rug pad was excellent in quality, not like cheaper alternatives. It was cut well to the size of the rug I bout and prevents the rug from slipping.

I was pleasantly surprised when your pad arrived so quickly (ahead of my rug.) I ordered an 8' round rug and was delighted to learn my new pad was round and the pe yrfect fit for my rug. I have always cut the pad to fit because stores do not carry round pads. I am really happy with this pad & the work was done for me -- just lay it out on the floor & place my new rug on it - no muss, no fuss! You need to state in your padding descriptions that if you order a round rug, the pad you order for it will also be round.

Product had dark stains like burn marks on it. Bought it to use under Herribone Sisal Rug, which smelled so bad after four days, I had to return it. Because of this, the rug pad smelled as well, and had to be returned.

Came quickly and the quality is very good. Haven't put it down yet, but it looks nice and thick.

Pretty standard pad like the ones you find in big stores, and it does it's job well. Works great on hardwood, and just okay on carpet (it's not really supposed to be for carpet). The reason for 3 stars is that the CHEMICAL SMELL IS HORRIBLE when you first get it. I washed it in my HE washing machine with a ton of vinegar and detergent. Then I air-dried it in the sun for a day. That worked to get rid of the smell. Didn't impact functionality.

I rated this as average because it's the same gripper that you can get anywhere. I didn't look close enough when I ordered this with my rug. I was expecting a 'pad', not just this gripper stuff.

This was thicker than I though it would be. You can actually feel the thickness under the rug. Helps your rug from moving and gives a little extra protection for your floor.

I didn't know this was a rubber non-slip pad, but it will probably work as a color barrier on carpeting (I don't have hardwood flooring).

Glad I bought this. It keeps the 5x8 area rug I bought from moving around (since it's not anchored by any furniture. Works great and adds just a hint of cushion.

Pad has a nice level of friction to it that holds it firmly in place and provides a bit of extra cusion to the carpet. The traction it provides also helps keep the carpet in place on smooth, slick floors, like a hardwood floor. Nothing fancy here, but it does its job well!

Seems to do the trick and a reasonable price. The non-slip quality of it is a big plus.

This was just what I expected to use on my wood floor with the oval braided rug I also ordered.

This really is just a gripping surface. It is decent quality, with even/straight edges that was easy to trim to fit under our rug. However, note that it's not really a "pad" as it is so flat. Although, it is represented accurately by the photos, I expected a bit more depth/height. It does have a slight-to-moderate chemical smell so I recommend to open and aerate outdoors before bringing in house. I'd rather have bought the kitchen shelf rolls of this material to secure the carpet position at the corners and invested in a real pad for truer softness. A whole 8x10 pad of this material seems a little overkill.

This product is very skimpy and is not what is best for expensive rugs. You really should have a rug pad that is thicker since it preserves the rug over time.

If you put your rugs on a wooden floor, don't skimp, buy a pad. I didn't need to trim mine but they would be easy enough to trim if needed. They really keep the rug in one spot, which is important because I have dogs running through the room and I was tired of finding my rugs in a different place everytime I walked through! I have 5X8 rugs and these pads keep them where they belong!

I was a little disappointed that it wasn't a little thicker but it is serviceable and worth the price.

I bought the run to go under a Danish modern dining set, and it is beautiful! I vacuumed it after putting it down, and it immediately looked very plush and shaggy. I was disappointed in the pad, however, and wish I had shopped locally because for the quality, I know I could have paid less. Overall, though, lucky find!

do you really need a rug pad? NO. sure it stops it from sliding around and if that's all you want it for then it works. but seems rather expensive. it does NOT add cushion to the rug. all the sales people will tell you that you need it. you really don't. i didn't bother with the hassle of return however i won't buy it again. if it were thicker then perhaps but this seems like a bottom of the line rug pad.

For 25.99 for a 2 x 8 rug pad for my runner, I think that's a little steep. You can get the same size at other websites for a fraction of the cost here. It's good quality pad but for the price, it's not worth it.

We love our new rug and the pad works well also. I called to ask about the specific colors and was send a more detailed photo which was very helpful in my selection!

This pad will give you a super, secure grip against slippage and a protective layer between the backing of your rug and your hard wood floors.. which is what i bought it for. This pad isn't going to give you tons of cushion under your rug, although it does give some.
