I read the reviews before purchasing this rug and they were all right!! It had a loud leather smell for a few days, a few pieces are coming apart and it's not as soft of course. Overall it looks nice in my living room!

Fantastic product! It took a little longer to receive than I had expected but it was well worth the wait. Quality is great and the look is fantastic. There is a strong leather odor for the first few days but it does go away. I would suggest unrolling it outdoors for the first couple of days to let the smell vanish.

I purchased this rug in black. I loved the idea of a leather rug. It suited my entranceway to my modern home. I liked that someone mentioned you could hose it off if it got dirty. It arrived quickly and was beautiful but had a very strong solvent smell. I had read it had a strong leather smell that eventually went away. I love how leather smells but this smell was not like that. It sort of smelled like a strong sharpie marker. I left it out for two days but the smell wasn't going away so I had to return it. If you can wait it out and see if the smell will go away then you will love this rug. It's so unique and nice quality.

They are very different looking [which I like]. They remind me of leaves. When you first open the rugs they have a very strong odor but that does eventually go away. Once opened, the smell of fresh leather was everywhere, which was great as I love it. So far only 3-4 pieces of leather have come off the rug but it is not noticeable at all and I have had it for about 2 weeks now. It adds a great dimension to my living room, and the black looks great against my white leather sofa. The leather strips were used for something else prior to becoming rugs. I see strips with printed writing on one side. Even found a adhesive tag on one strip. The leather is not all the same; some patent leather mixed into soft leather. Strips are cut unevenly-and in different lengths and thickness. Though I like the look, the quality seems lacking. I would not buy again. I wonder how much rug I'll loose during the holidays.

I ordered 2 of the black leather rugs and I am very happy with them. I love the texture it adds to the room. The leather pieces do fall off on occasion but it is not noticable on the rug. I would recommend this rug!

I bought the black leather one and the black dye ruined my cream carpet all thru the house. if you have wood floors or tile, may be ok. But the dye will bleed onto the carpet . I removed it within a 2 months and have been cleaning my carpet ever since to remove the black dye.

I was so excited to receive this rug! But since rugs.com decided to ship it after 5 or 6 days, had to wait quite a while. The rug is definitelly nice & original, but expected something to wow me. Considering that it's leather made, it's pretty hard & rough. Smelled strong at first too. Would I buy it again? Maybe. Mainly because of originality.

The leather shag has a suede side and a smooth side. The smooth side is in places shiney and appears more grey. It is a great look but not a rug you want to walk on because it feels lumpy/hard. RECOMMENDED: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.I almost didnt oder it because of the reveiws that said they had to wait too long to receive it, but im glad i did. Got it inabout 10 days. It did have a different smell at first but didnt last long. Now just smells like leather and who doesnt like that ;-). The only complaint I have is that the edges are not straight. one side is pretty noticeable but put tha under my couch. It looks great with my biege leather furniture and my brown leather ottoman.Not sure how I will vaccuum it as my Riccar is pretty powerful and will surely have it for lunch. my just with the hose attachment. Couldnt beat the price as I looked in Furniture stores and they were about $400. Ive got compliments on it and sure to get more as I havent had it for very long. Thanks

A few of the leather shah pieces have come off, bit there doesn't seem to be any mass shedding issue so I think it's a quality product... Time will tell. Due to the different shades of leather (beige), I think soil will not be noticeable. Good quality, well made. Did have a strong leather odor, but after a few days the odor has mostly gone, (not offensive if you are a horse person & use to saddle & tack odor). Quick shipping. Very happy with it! Very reasonably priced! If I needed another one I would not hesitate to purchase another one. Very pleased! Goes well with the rustic decor I have. My high end sofa by the Leather Factory looks great on it. The rug does not look cheap!

They are cool rugs but quite a bit flatter and rag-like than I expected. The leather strips are also much wider and of varied thicknesses than I expected vs. how they appear in the picture. Price is appropriate through for quality.

I saw a similar rug at a furniture store for three times what I paid. When the store would not allow me any return options (final sale only) I thought I'd look on the internet. I found this leather shag and it arrived in less than a week - and it was returnable if it didn't work out. It was so much nicer than the one I saw at the furniture store. It is PLUSH, soft and full! You will not see the backing. Which, by the way, is also made of leather strips. [...] GRAEAT FIND! Buy it - you will LOVE it!

I bought the 2x6 runner for the entryway to my home. I got the box yesterday and what can I say....I love it! The color is a rich, dark brown and the leather is so soft to walk on. It's very full....which was a concern for me. I assumed at these low prices that the weave would be spaced out but it wasn't. I'm saving to buy the larger room sized one since I liked it so much. I'd definitely recommend if you're on the fence about purchasing it.

I ordered this red leather rug in April and it just arrived 12-08. The rug looks like a bunch of leaves together, the leather was crumbled up in places. Every time I move the rug a piece of leather would come off, this rug is not what I hoped it would be.
