This rug is gorgeous and we are very happy with it. It is only lightly shedding and started to lay completely flat from the time we rolled it out. The colors in the online picture are pretty true, but of course it will depend on where you put it in relation to lighting in your house. I have mine somewhat close to a large living area and the colors are toned down a bit from the light. The rug is cushioning and thick, but sturdy at the same time. Sidenote - our cat peed on the rug and it held up nicely to stain remover which did not strip away any of the color. I would definitely recommend this rug!
