I love the way this rug looks with its natural taupe-to-gray ombre background and rust pattern. The pattern is much more distinct than the photo indicates. It?s made of hemp so does not have as much ?body? as a wool rug with a stiff cotton backing, but it lies flat and the 1/4?-3/8? thickness is sufficient; however, it would be better with a pad under it to help adhere to the floor. It sheds a little but not as much as new wool. A lot of dust comes through it to the floor underneath, and I?m not sure if that is dirt from foot traffic (which has been pretty minimal) or ?hemp dust.? I was concerned that my powerful vacuum would suck it up but it seems to have done OK, but use caution.

RECOMMENDED: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

I was looking for a rustic type of rug that would go well with a stone floor and stacked stone fireplace and this fits the bill perfectly. The colors are spot on, gorgeous! My only drawback is the rug texture...not sure how it will wear over time and with two dogs. It feels sort of loose under foot and that may be because I've never had a hemp rug before. It's a unique pattern and blends with a rustic decor very nicely.
