The "Anthracite" color looks like a medium or even pale gray with off-white diamond-trellis design. In real life, the grey is a much deeper, darker gray, and the off-white is very tan. It is made of polypropylene, and definitely feels a bit like stepping on plastic under your bare feet--not as soft as the "indoor-outdoor" material used by Dash And Albert. Then again, the sale price is also a fraction of what you'd pay for D&A. You definitely need a rubber rug pad underneath to keep it in place. I'm a little disappointed in the color, since it does not quite match the grays I have in my front room. However, since I intend to use the rug in my entryway by the front door, I think I can live with the color--will probably hide dirt better anyway. I would definitely not get the larger version of this rug for indoor use--will feel too much like a plastic outdoor rug.
