Very thick wool and nice under foot, but full of burrs. It's like they didn't wash the sheep before shearing. I have two of these rug in 2'x3' and one in 3'3 x 5'3 from two different sellers, and all three rugs were full of small brown burrs/stickers. At first it appears like the ivory wool is flecked with brown, but it's plant material. The burrs can be removed with tweezers (very tedious.) Also on one of the small rugs, the outside packaging - which is just a plastic bag - must have not been sealed well, because the rug was filthy all along one edge.
