El is known for her ability to mix high-quality pieces with budget-friendly finds, and her distinctive organic modern style shines through in this capsule. To celebrate, we sat down with her to get her thoughts on the collection, her favorite designs, and all things washable rugs!

Q: What drew you to partner with Rugs USA?
A: “Believe it or not, the very first high-quality rug I ever purchased for my home was from Rugs USA. It was called the Diamond Shag Rug. Although my style has changed from what it was in 2014, my taste for high-quality, stylish rugs hasn’t. Thankfully, Rugs USA has a huge selection to pick from for all budgets.”
Q: How would you describe your personal design aesthetic?
A: “I’d say that my style is Organic Modern. I love mixing the textures of natural elements with clean lines to create stylish yet functional spaces. I use nature-inspired accent pieces and incorporate natural materials like reclaimed wood and stone throughout.”
Q: How is that reflected in the styles you chose for your capsule collection?
A: “My capsule collection with Rugs USA was selected to blend with a variety of styles—starting with a neutral palette and subtle patterns to give a perfect foundation to any room. I wanted the collection to showcase rugs that function as staple pieces and allow you to transition between furniture pieces with rich woods and neutral tones for seasonal changes.”
Q: What do you look for in a good washable rug?
A: “Durability is key! A washable rug needs to come out of the washing machine looking new and not torn or frayed. The material should maintain the integrity of the original construct. One of my favorite things Rugs USA offers is their washable rugs.”
Q: How are washable rugs useful for you as a mom and pet-owner?
A: “As a busy mom of two young boys and two dogs, it’s just the practical approach. It seems that spills only happen when a rug lies beneath. Having a washable rug that is also sustainable has made my life a whole lot less stressful! I let my boys be boys, and dogs will make mistakes. At least I can easily wash the rugs and let it go.”
Q: What is your experience with other washable rugs, and why do you recommend the Rugs USA washables?
A: “Not all washable rugs are the same! I love the how durable the rugs from Rugs USA are. They can be easily thrown into the washing machine, and they have a one-piece design that makes them super easy to fold and unfold. Some of them are even completely spill- and stain-resistant. Q: What are your top three favorite rugs in this capsule collection, and why?
A: “The first of my top three favorite rugs from my capsule collection is the Andrea Bordered Washable Rug. I love the intricate patterns, and it has the perfect balance of dark and light. It goes well in my family room and really anchors the space.
“The Yvette Washable Stain Resistant Rug is another one of my favorites! Absolutely love the color and overall texture. It’s the perfect neutral tone and goes well with the aesthetics of my home.
“To round off my top picks, the Meena Fading Garden Washable Rug is a must have! Love the subtle tones and patterns. I feel that it’s a versatile rug that can easily transition into any space. Oh, it’s also perfect for layering, as well.”
Q: If you could give someone only one piece of advice when it comes to styling rugs, what would it be?
A: “Pick a rug that’s versatile and easily interchangeable throughout the seasons. Neutral tones are timeless, and with subtle patterns, you’ll find they blend easier with evolving styles. You can always mix in accent pieces and artwork for a touch of bolder colors. Don’t feel like you need to overstate the rug.”
Q: What’s one fun fact about you?!
A: “Some of my favorite things to do are travel, paddle board, and ride our electric bikes around town!”
