A Rug for the “Bonus Room”
Q: I think I need a rug in my bonus room (shown below), but the floor has wall-to-wall shag carpet. I want to put 1-2 small ottomans in front of the sofa to make it look like a conversation area and have them easily accessible to prop your feet up when sitting on the couch. I think a rug might be needed to make the ottomans not look out of place and to make the space look more styled. Do you have any ideas for rugs?

A: Of course we do! And we’re all for layering a rug on top of carpet—it’s an easy, inexpensive way to spruce up your space without doing a major renovation.
For something neutral to blend in with your existing carpet, try our Cardinal Cartouche rug or the High-Low Harlequin with Tassels rug (shown above).
For a hint of color, we’re looking to the blues and golds of your pillows for inspiration. Our Hand Braided Denim and Jute Striped Diamonds rug in off-white and our Petalled Medallion rug are the perfect picks to tie all the hues in the space together.
For a monochrome moment that ties back to the bold black walls, take a look at our Diamond Pinstripes Tasseled rug and the Checkered Diamonds Tassel rug in ivory—both great options for keeping it neutral while making a statement.
One last word of wisdom: be sure to secure your rug on top of the carpet with carpet tape—this will help keep it flat and prevent rippling and curling on the edges.

Sizing Up
Q: My rug is too small! Looking for a new 9′ x 12′ that can still be light but bring out the colors in the room (shown below). Do you have any suggestions?

A: What a gorgeous space! While we love the textured jute that’s already in the room, we think the space will feel much bigger with a larger rug. Any of the below styles will look ahh-mazing!
For added warmth and color—and something that will tie together the pink of the chairs, green from the plants, and all the beige-cream tones—check out our Wreath Medallion Tassel rug (shown above), the Native Collage rug, and the Flourishing Medallion rug.
For a neutral look—but one filled with plenty of character and texture, take a look at our Handwoven Jute Jagged Chevron rug in off-white and the Argyle Trellis rug in ivory. Both would be stunners!

Beauty in Boho
Q: I’ve discovered my style is modern boho, but I have no idea how to style a rug! My style has sort of changed—when I first got this place (shown below) I just bought whatever was cheapest. I love a pop of rust color, and more muted neutral tones too. Can you help me choose a rug?

A: We’ve got you! Luckily, we have a ton of options to suit the modern boho look. Here’s what we’re thinking for your space!
If you’re going the neutral route, we think our Moroccan Trellis rug in gray or the Diamond Textured Trellis Tassel rug in ivory would both be amazing in your space.
If you’re going the rust route, we’d like to point you in the direction of some of our favorite styles: the Tribal Medallion rug in rust (see it IRL above!), the Dynast rug in rust, and the Olden Tribal Medallion Fringe rug in rust. Can’t go wrong with any of them!

The Blank Canvas
Q: I’ve been struggling for months to pick a color scheme that goes with my new sectional (shown below). Any ideas?

A: We’ve always got ideas! Lucky for you (and us—this is fun!), you’re working with a neutral canvas, which means you have almost unlimited options for what you can do in this space. Here’s what we’re thinking:
Look to neutrals with classic, all-over patterns—like our Eldorado rug in beige (shown above) or Floral Ornament rug in ivory—for a space that feels grounded in tradition but with an updated, natural-leaning color palette.
Try out Moroccan styles, like our Tribal Moroccan Tassel rug in off-white or Textured Moroccan Jute rug in gray or light gray, to create a space filled with neutral texture and boho ease.
Consider something colorful, like our Reverse Herringbone rug in blue or the Distressed Persian rug in its rainbow of color options, for a pop of brightness and pattern.

A Jewel-Toned Gem
Q: I have a velvet teal sofa (shown below)! What would be a good match for a rug?

A: We are absolutely swooning over the color of that sofa! Its bold blue hue makes it a match for so many different colors and types of rugs. But here are our hot takes below!
Lean into bold hues with colorful rugs that will complement the rich jewel-toned teal of the sofa with our Clover Medallion Tassel rug or our Bloom in Blossom rug. Chic!
Or balance with a neutral by turning to our Vintage Medallion rug (check out the texture!), Hand Knotted Ivied Oriental rug (so luxe!), or our Chunky Loop rug in off-white (see above to peep it paired with a teal sofa).
