I’m Natasha, a wife, mom and full-time digital content creator in the food and lifestyle niche. I’m constantly in my kitchen recipe testing and cooking for my family. I love cooking and our kitchen is the center of our home. We recently bought our first home a few months ago and did major renovations to the kitchen. With the new wood plank flooring I knew that I would need a rug to not only warm up the space but to also protect the floor.
I decided on Rugs USA’s washable rugs because of the function and style. I love that if I get a spill on the rug, which I do weekly, I can simply throw it in my washer and it’s like new. I also love how beautiful the washable runner looks in my kitchen. It instantly added a ton of character and charm to the space.
What have you spilled and gotten out of your washable rugs?
I’ve gotten red cupcake frosting on my rug and I actually didn’t even wipe it off. I didn’t want to smear more on the rug so I left the stain where it was and threw it right into the washer—and it came out instantly. We’ve gotten tiny splashes of sauce on the rug as well and we just throw it in the washer without wiping first. The stains come out after just one wash.

Washable rugs make a great choice for the kitchen over regular rugs because of the versatility to wash. I can’t imagine having a regular rug in my kitchen because I would be on edge constantly worrying about messing it up. I love that the washable rug in my kitchen is low-maintenance and I can wash it whenever I need to. The width of the rug is also great because I don’t have to worry about tripping over the runner. And my son loves crawling around on it!

Did you have any reservations about washable rugs before you rolled yours out?
I wondered how the washable rug would look IRL and how it would compare to a regular rug’s plushness, but all those worries went away the second I rolled out my washable runner. It was perfect! From the design to the softness of the rug I couldn’t have asked for anything more.
What’s your favorite thing about using washable rugs in your home?
My favorite thing about using washable rugs in my kitchen and throughout my home is the versatility they give me. I love the option of quickly refreshing our rugs by throwing them in the washer, and you just don’t have that option with regular rugs. I have several washable runners throughout high traffic areas of our home and they are perfect! The designs are so fun and I love the character they gives each corner. Being able to wash these runners frequently is truly a game changer for me.
