This rug looks and feels like a high-end rug. I had my eye on a cowhide patchwork rug from Serena and Lily but was unwilling to pay $2K plus for a rug. I haven't seen the SL rug in person, but I can say that the Rugs USA rug is a fantastic alternative. I had three concerns after reading reviews that made me hesitant to purchase final sale: (1) the rug would come shorter than advertised (2) it shed and (3) the edges were unbound. I've had this rug on the ground for a few weeks now and I can confidently say (1) the rug is exactly 9'6" x 7'6" as advertised (2) it does shed-- you can see the small white hairs when you lay something like a pillow on the rug-- but it never tracks on my hardwood and it is easy to vacuum with an attachment and (3) the very outer edges are unbound but there IS an outer trim cowhide piece that is bound and I see no issue with the rug coming apart. One other point to make is several reviewers said this rug was too precious for a high-traffic area, but I have mine in the most trafficked room in the house because cowhide is one of the most durable types of rugs and the only kind of white rug I would put on my floor with pets and spill-prone kids. I will update my review if after a few months the rug is showing wear, but I am anticipating loving this rug for a long time. And, at the 90% off price I paid, I think it's a great deal for the money.
Bought a very high end rug at an incredible discount. It is just as beautiful as pictured and I will absolutely order from Rugs USA again!
I've been eyeing this type of rug for years. Many of the high end show rooms at Chicago's Merchandise Mart have had similar rugs for thousands of dollars. I am slowly moving into a new apartment and this was the first item I brought to unpack. With that, I have not actually lived on this rug, so I am not sure how it holds up. However the construction and overall appearance seem to be very high quality. One thing that is difficult to see in the images provided is that the cream colored cross stitching that holds the pieces together is visible, but not glaring. The backing is a felt material.
I've had my rugs for a week now and absolutely love them! Although they're described as "beige" I find they have more grey tones, but turned out to be perfect because the Grey tones coordinate more with my color scheme. The first few days the house did smell of leather, but it wasn't an offensive smell. So far no shedding at all. If you're on the fence, buy them, you won't me disappointed
a few of the patchwork cowhide pieces are lifting up (look to be glued on) and there is a few spots that have missing spots, but overall, great look and design- just wish quality control was better. I contacted RUGSUSA and they won’t do anything about it.
I had been looking for this rug for several months. Several stores sell it but most sell it for over 1500K. I saw it in RugsUSA and ordered it for a fraction of the price. I absolutely love my purchase. It looks exactly the same as all I had seen in other stores.
It is more impressive than in photos. The colors, light gray, white, off white, etc. are a perfect blend. The rug works great in our eclectic, contemporary great room.
The colors are perfect for the room I got it for. It is not your typical plain rug and and I like that. It has character and pulls the room together.
Great rug, looks great, modern and stitched well. On the thinner side, needs rubber mat underneath to keep from moving.Great quality for a great price. Looks exactly like photo.
This is by far my favorite rug! It’s well made, the colors are soft / muted and it’s very fitting for our mid-century modern remodel. The back is lined with a thick felt so it’s not just a hide on the floor.
Love the rug, really completed the room providing a slight bit of color but not a bold pattern. Put in a bedroom so it won't get much traffic. I did not put a pad under because it has a felt type backing so it lays nicely since some furniture is on the top of the rug and some of the furniture legs are on the wood floor. Lies very flat. Probably would be more cushy with a pad but I was looking for a rug to look more cosmetic than comfy. Everyone who has seen it, thought it looked great!
