Related 6x9 Solid & Striped Area Rug Reviews
I am very happy with this rug. I knew I wanted a contemporary-style rug and I also liked the beachy appearance of jute, but did not think I wanted a jute rug due to the difficulty of cleaning it and the potential for splinters. I really didn't think I would come across a rug that had the modern (and neutral) look I wanted and would also have a beachy feeling, but this rug has both! I like the texture, I like that it won't show dirt easily, I have had no problems whatsoever with shedding, in fact I don't have shedding at all (another review had shedding issues), and I simply think it looks great. The quality so far seems good, too - it is thick and solid and not flimsy. I do have a substantial - maybe 1/2 inch - felted pad under the rug as my apartment building requires. I also greatly appreciated the website's "see it in your room" link, and did use that. I feared the return policy/costs, as those are not spelled out sufficiently on the website, but am pleased to say I won't be retuning this rug. The price was amazing and the delivery was fast. Two thumbs up all around.
We love our rug, as pictured (in the close up picture). I thought it would a little more jute than white but more white; and didn't notice the tassle type material. BEAUTIFUL rug but a little rough to walk on, you can feel the wool knots. Not a rug to lay on, more for looks. Great for our living room!
Very nice rug. I love the pattern and I appreciate how quickly it shipped. The price was more than fair. Not my first time ordering from RugsUSA and wont be my last!
Rug was a great buy. The quality is very good for the price. We ordered the blue and the color was perfect.
Nicer then we expected! sheds slightly but that was expected. We will be ordering more rugs from Rugs USA.
much better quality than expected for a wool rug. feels plus especially with the premium pad
very happy. purchased via internet. well represented on the web. great value. quality is superb. thank you.
I was pleasantly surprised how heavy this rug is, which was great for me in the area where I've placed it. While the quality seems to be very good, I will say that there are a few aspects about this style to consider before purchasing: #1 - It is VERY nubby. You can definitely feel the large fat loops of wool on the bottoms of your feet when you walk on it, so I would not classify this rug as "soft and comfy" underfoot. But that isn't a bad thing - just depends on what you expect as far as the comfort of the pile. #2 - By nature of the very thick and nubby texture it isn't the best choice if you need to move chairs with legs on it often - such as a dining chair. I am using it in an area where I have a writing desk. I use a 4-legged chair there and I do have to slightly lift up the chair in order to move it around otherwise it kind of gets hung up due to the nubby texture. So be aware of this fact. #3 - Vacuuming it ... you DO NOT want to use the beater brush option on your vacuum cleaner, as the very thin wispy white threads that make up all the tufts that proliferate this rug will likely get pulled out over time. They are not strongly knotted onto the rug. Case in point: when I received this rug it was tightly rolled up and had wide tape holding it together at the top, middle and bottom - clear packing tape. But when trying to remove the tape it was pulling out some of the white threads. I found that the faster you pulled off the tape, the less threads would be stuck to the tape. This didn't cause any noticeable loss in quality, however proved to me that these threads would be very vulnerable to a beater bar when vacuuming. #4 - Dirt, crumbs and such will probably be a bit harder to suction out of this rug due to the various pile heights within the rug - there are big fat "nubs" of wool, long white tufts and big fat twists of jute. So...I wouldn't recommend this rug for a kids room or eating area. Hope this review proves helpful. And again - it is a lovely rug and even nicer in person than the photos show. And the colors on my computer monitor proved to be the same as the rug I received.
Bought this rug for our master bedroom, which has a set of sliding patio doors that open to an upstairs deck, so a medium amount of traffic. I've only had it a few days, but was very pleasantly surprised at how heavy/chunky the rug's texture is, but at the same time, it is soft and quite comfortable to walk on, even with bare feet. I can feel the knots when walking on it, so it's not plush like a shag rug is, but the texture of the knots is soft, and not abrasive at all. The rug does not shed all that much, especially compared to other jute rugs and 100% wool rugs that I've purchased in the past. The colors are exactly as they appear in the pictures, and the construction of the rug seems very good; the stitching is tight, there are no gaps in the weaving, and the knots are uniform in appearance. This is a very attractive rug, and as usual, I'm quite happy with my purchase from Rugs USA!!
This rug looks darling in my guest room/playroom! Love the neutral/beachy look. I did not experience the shedding other reviewers have mentioned. What I am experiencing is a very "earthy" smell. I'm keeping the windows open continuously and hope that it goes away. Also, I thought I'd do my Pilates in this room...the knots in the rug are way too uncomfortable for this. It doesn't bother me to walk on it but you wouldn't want to lay on it.
This rug is beautifully made but unfortunately not the seafoam color pictured, there is no green in it whatsoever and it is much darker in person. I ordered mine directly from Surya. It is very well made though and actually pretty soft for being a wool rug! Not too much shedding either. If you are wanting a seafoam or minty color though do not order.
