Q: In three words, how would you describe your newest collection?
A: “Charming, timeless, and relaxed.”
Q: What is the inspiration behind your Rugs USA Spring Collection?
A: “My Spring Collection is inspired by all the antique and vintage rugs that I love so much and I love to include in all of my projects. The Fall Collection was really more about those natural fiber, base layer rugs. And then the Spring Collection is all about the top layer rugs that add story and character to a house.”
Q: This collection features a healthy mix of indoor, washable, and outdoor rugs. Why was it important to you to incorporate these different types of rug styles?
A: “It was really important to me to include a mix of indoor rugs, washable rugs, and outdoor rugs, because really, every space needs a rug. I wanted to make sure that we had pieces for every type of space—be it indoor or outdoor, areas where your pets are, or all of the above.”
Q: With the variety of styles in this collection, how would you recommend selecting rugs to make a home feel cohesive from one room to the next?
A: “When selecting rugs, to make a home feel cohesive from room to room, I like to do a variety of materials. I may do a washable rug in one room, and then go with a natural fiber layered with a wool rug in another. I like to pick rugs that have the same vibe and feeling, but are a little bit different. So, materials are one of the things I look for, and then slight variations in color is the other thing I like to vary from room to room.”
Q: Do you have any favorite rugs from this collection?
A: “My favorite rugs from this collection…I have too many to say, but I’m going to tell you two of them! The first one is the Bayberry Vintage Washable Rug, and the second one is the Lennox Medallion Tassel Rug.”
Q: How does this collection differ from your Fall Collection?
A: “My Fall Collection was all about natural fiber rugs—jute, seagrass, sisal—and creating that base layer that I love. The Spring Collection is all about patterns and the top layer.”
Q: Can you recommend any layering combinations from your collection?
A: “A couple of my favorite layering combinations are the Oak Sisal Rug with the Jessamine Washable Geometric Rug and the Pampas Jute Tasseled Rug with the Myrtle Washable Vintage Rug.”
Q: What are your top tips for people who are looking to refresh their home for Spring?
A: “Number one, go outside and bring in the prettiest thing you can find. So, if that’s a branch, if it’s leaves, if it’s flowers, bring it inside. Just make a bouquet and bring it in! Number two, look at your rugs. It’s really easy to just take the wintry, wool rug that you have, pull it up, and put down a soft, spring-type rug. Number three, I would also look at your throw pillows. They’re another really easy thing to switch out for spring.”
